Detailed description of Landsmeer Golf Club
Landsmeer Golf Club, is a Public, 18 hole golf course located in Orange City, Iowa.
Landsmeer Golf Course was designed by Donald Sechrest. The course opened for play in 1995.
This course features wide open fairways and water hazards coming into play on four holes. The undulating greens are medium speed. The course is a combination of parkland and links style with links style the dominant characteristic of the layout.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,370 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 5,252 yards.
The signature hole is #5, a 379-yard, par 4, featuring a water hazard that crisscrosses through the middle of the fairway and a green that is protected by numerous sand bunkers.%u200B

In 2009, Golf Digest ranked it the #1 Municipal Golf Course in the state of Iowa. Haven't played all of them but it is one of the best municipal courses I have ever played. My playing partner and I got the early bird special ($35 each for 18 holes with a cart). Range balls were free and they gave us a second cart (for free) so that my wife (who doesn't play golf) could ride along. Course was beautiful and it was almost empty. Played in less than three hours. Tremendous bargain and an Iowa friendly staff.
